Marshmallow Fables is the creation of Kit Catwell, a disabled artist and teacher from Washington state.
Originally conceived in 2012, Marshmallow Fables centers around the fantasy adventures of three main characters: Comet the northern saw-whet owl, Bijou the albino long-eared owl, and Claire the alpaca.

What’s wrong with Comet?
Nothing! Comet was born with a disease called X-Linked Hypophosphetemia. It’s the same disability I have. It causes abnormal bone growth, skeletal issues, and a host of other problems.

Where’s Claire? Why hasn’t she shown up in the story yet?
Like many of the best characters, Claire won’t appear until we get farther into the story. She’ll be here! Just be patient.
What instrument does Bijou play?
The lute! She painted her lute herself.
Who’s YOUR favorite character?
I love all three of my main characters equally, but my favorite to draw is definitely Bijou.
